Rights to the Work of Friedrich Dürrenmatt, recordings or photography in the CDN

All the publication rights for texts by Friedrich Dürrenmatt belong to Diogenes Verlag, Zurich. Diogenes Verlag of Zurich also holds the rights for all translations, stagings and film adaptations of said texts.

The Artistic Oeuvre
The publication rights for art works by Friedrich Dürrenmatt belong to the Centre Dürrenmatt Neuchâtel/Swiss Confederation. At the request of interested parties (journalists, scientists, institutions, publishers, private individuals), the CDN authorises the reproduction in good quality and the publication of art works by Friedrich Dürrenmatt.
For all requests, the following information should be sent to the CDN:
- Author
- Titel
- Kind of publication : scientific / commercial /...
- Publisher or institution
- Year
- Tirage
- Artworks wanted : please indicate for each work its inventory number ("Signatur") as referenced in the online inventory as well as the legend, according to the following template:

The Centre Dürrenmatt Neuchâtel (CDN) does not request a fee for authorising a reproduction, but this is subject to two conditions:
- The entire legend of the work must be included with the picture in a publication or as part of a presentation (conference, roundtable). Any change to the legend must be discussed and approved by the CDN.
- A specimen copy of the publication must be sent to the CDN, including for non-published research works.

Upon receipt of a signed written acceptance of the above conditions, the CDN issues the necessary authorisation and transmits the information for ordering the desired files to the Swiss National Library's Photo and Reprography Department. The costs of reprography are to be borne by the person/institution requesting it.
Information on CDN publications
The CDN can send a list of CDN publications relevant to the subject to anyone who wishes to work on Friedrich Dürrenmatt's pictorial work. If a publication is used in the context of the research work, the CDN would like it to be correctly referenced according to the practices of the university or the publishing house.
Photos
The copyrights for photographs of Friedrich Dürrenmatt or of productions of his plays belong to their respective photographers or the latter's heirs or, in any case, to the respective agency or collecting society.
Film, video, sound recordings or photography in the CDN
The Swiss National Library is responsible for the preservation of its collections as part of its legal mandate. Professional recordings or photography on the premises of the National Library (with or without collection items) therefore require authorisation.
